The 14th Annual New York NVC Intensive 2017
Join us for week-long immersion in self-awareness, authentic connection and open heartedness.
July 7 – 14, 2017 – in New Lebanon, NY
Sessions are determined by the entire community – both trainers and participants. Typically, early in the intensive, participants discuss with the trainers the topics which they would like to see covered. The trainers then use the participants’ requests, as well as information from daily feedback and requests, to determine the content of each day’s sessions. Session topics range from introductory material to deep healing work to advanced application of NVC. Last year, over 80 different presentations were made by our trainers – covering all of the topics our participants requested! Rich opportunities for learning and deepening your NVC practice await you!
Rememberings, Celebrations and Mournings: Each morning, we begin with a remembering, an activity presented by a community member to connect us with our purpose in learning NVC and being in community together. They vary widely and have included readings, music, movement, and touch. Trainers typically offer the first few rememberings. In the evenings, the community has space to share their celebrations of needs met and mournings of needs not met related to the day, the retreat, or some other aspects of their lives. As with the rememberings, celebrations and mournings connect us to each other, allowing us to create a shared experience that meets needs for connection, meaning, and understanding.
The Empathy Labyrinth
This profound kinesthetic tool was developed by Marc Weiner in 2006 to teach empathy skills and Nonviolent Communication. The EL is a vehicle to facilitate joyful, empathic heart-to-heart connection with yourself and others. With Marc’s gentle guidance, you will walk the labyrinth and gain clarity, compassion, empowerment and connection. You will be able to choose actions that are more connecting and congruent with your core needs/values. The Empathy Labyrinth has been a popular offering at the New York Intensive for the past six years, enriching the experience and self understanding that our participants come to find.
