Amber Carroll, LCSW is a community-focused social worker, dedicated to working with others in the dismantling of systems of oppression while caring for one another and ourselves. In their work as a coach, trainer, and therapist, Amber pulls in threads from NVC, person-centered social work, and clinical psychology. Amber’s living experience as a queer person, a fat person, and a survivor of mental illness informs their approach to work with the self and others.

Compassionate Movement Forward, Together

As a coach and trainer, Amber uses the teachings of NVC, clinical psychology, and social work, specifically the Liberation Health model, to work with you in creating compassion for yourself and others. Amber supports you in mobilizing compassion to meet your goals, experience less internal and external conflict, and feel more fulfilled in your relationships with yourself, loved ones, and community. Amber believes that working with a coach can contribute to movement forward, especially if you feel stuck in your self-work or work in psychotherapy. In training sessions, Amber aims to create a sense of belonging, community, and working together. Training curricula are customized to each group, but NVC basics, empathy, and compassionate and effective relationships are core focuses of most sessions.

Amber is most excited about providing coaching and training for the following individuals and groups:

  • Therapists, social workers, teachers, and other helping professionals and practitioners
  • Caregivers, parents, and community supporters of child-raising
  • Small groups with intimate connections, including friends, families, polycules, and roommates
  • All who seek support with self-empathy, self-compassion, body respect and neutrality, relationships with the self and community, and movement forward
